Blink Analysis Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026

Blink Analysis is an informational and educational tool that uses the device's front camera to measure characteristics of blink movement. It is not a medical diagnostic tool and does not diagnose, rule out, or treat any medical condition.

Information the App Uses

During a blink test, Blink Analysis creates and uses:

Face Data

During a blink test, Blink Analysis records four short front-camera videos that may contain the user's face and eyes. The app processes these recordings on the user's device using facial landmark tracking to identify points around the eyelids and eyes. These landmarks are used only to calculate blink measurements such as eyelid closure, blink duration, timing, velocity, symmetry, and tracking quality.

Blink Analysis does not use face data to identify or authenticate users, create a biometric identity or face profile, or for advertising or marketing.

Face Data Storage and Retention

Facial landmark coordinates are processed on-device and are not retained as a separate facial-landmark dataset after analysis. The recorded session videos and derived blink-analysis files are stored locally within the app on the user's device.

Locally stored session videos and analysis files remain on the device until the user deletes them using Privacy & Data → Delete All Local Session Data or removes the app.

Face Data Sharing

Face data is not automatically uploaded or transmitted to the developer, Google, or any other third party. Facial-landmark processing used by Blink Analysis runs locally on the user's device.

If a user deliberately exports session files, the exported copies are stored or shared at the destination selected by the user and are no longer controlled by Blink Analysis.

How Information Is Processed

Blink analysis is performed on the user's device using high-frame-rate video, facial landmark tracking, and an individual calibration phase. The current version does not automatically transmit session videos, face data, or derived blink measurements to the developer or to an external server.

Local Storage

Session videos and analysis results are stored locally inside the app's storage on the user's device.

Exporting Data

Users may deliberately choose to export their own session files using the app's export feature. When files are exported, iOS allows the user to choose where they are saved or sent. Copies outside Blink Analysis are then controlled by the destination selected by the user.

Deleting Local Data

Users can permanently delete locally stored Blink Analysis sessions from within the app by opening Privacy & Data and selecting Delete All Local Session Data. This removes the locally stored session recordings and analysis files.

Camera Access

Camera access is required to record the user's eyes during a blink test. Camera footage is used for blink analysis and is not automatically transmitted by the current version of the app.

Medical Disclaimer

Blink measurements can be affected by lighting, framing, eyelid visibility, camera position, frame rate, and other factors. The measurements provided by Blink Analysis have not been validated as clinical diagnostic tests. Results should not be used as a substitute for professional medical evaluation.
